House of Pleasure (ver. 0.2.0)

The new version 0.2.0 is ready. The main focus was to update the interface. But I also added some content too.

Changelog:

  1. New interface design. That includes new main menu and pause menus.
  2. Now you can change slaves’ outfit. Added 1 outfit that is available for both girls.
  3. Now you can change slave’s pubic hair. Added 3 styles plus clean shaven.

Previous save games are not compatible. 

Uncle Vulvius’ House of Pleasure. Dev. Diary #6. Interactions with a slave.

During the day time gameplay, there will be a list of interactions available for every slave you manage.  

1. Talk  

a. Ask about herself  

A player can find out more about a girl’s backstory and even unlock some side quests related to her. 

b. Ask about sexual experience  

There will be subtopics regarding particular acts. A player can find out whatever a girl tried these things, whatever she likes it or not. It can be useful while planning her interactions with clients.  

c. Other topics  

Something connected with the main and side quests.  

2. Sexual training  

See the previous dev. Diary  

3. Encouragement  

a. Verbally encourage  

Say something nice to your slave.  

b. Give a present  

Buy something for her. It requires money  

c. Night off  

Allow her not to work the following night. It relieves stress, but lowers a slave’s popularity and doesn’t make you money.  

4. Discipline  

a. Scold  

Say something mean.  

b. Slap  

Exactly what is says.  

c. Corporal punishment  

This will be a separate mini-game. I will talk about it more in future dev. diaries.  

5. Appearance  

a. Strip  

Order a slave to take off her clothes  

b. Change costume  

For each girl, there will be her own costume and also an official house uniform (very sexy). There will also be additional costumes that a player can buy or earn by completing quests.  

c. Change pubic hair  

Several styles will be available including completely shaved.  

A slave will react differently to every interaction depending on her mood, her character, and relationships with the player. For example, you give a present to a girl. If she likes you, she will react positively. But if she hates you, she’ll be suspicious or even annoyed by that gesture.   

Additionally, repeating the same thing day after day will have a diminishing return.  

Also, a girl could straight out refuse to follow your orders. Then you’ll have to find a way to change her mind. You can use a stick or a carrot (not literally) or just wait for another day.  

Basically, I want to make the whole process as close to real human interaction as possible. I regard it as an essential part of this project.  

House of Pleasure. Dev Diary #5. Sexual training and interactions with clients

Hello guys 

In today’s dev diary I will talk about sex training and interactions with clients. 

Every slave will have several sexual disciplines to master. I am still not sure which ones exactly. Definitely vaginal, oral and anal will be the main ones. Maybe something more specific like deepthroat or rimming. 

When you choose to train one of those things, the game will switch into a special mode. During it you will perform the corresponding sexual act, do some additional actions, give instructions and just enjoy yourself. 

After every practice session a slave will acquire experience in a specific discipline, also she will like or hate it more. The latter depends on your conduct and other circumstances (like girl’s mood at the moment). 

For a slave to start serving clients, she must at least know how to fuck and suck. 

When night starts, the player will be presented with a list of clients, who are interested in his proteges. Each client will have a list of demands and preferences. Demands must be fulfilled during a session with a slave. If not, the establishment will not receive any money. Preferences are optional, but fulfilling them will increase the rating that patron gives the girl afterwards. Rating ranges from 1 star to 5 stars. 

The player can peek during the action to see his girls perform. 

A very important characteristic of every slave is her popularity. Popularity increases the cost of her services, but it also attracts more demanding clients. Ratings 4 and 5 will increase the popularity of a girl, while 1 and 2 decreases it. Popularity will also decrease slightly if she doesn’t serve anyone that night. 

Player receives a percentage of slave’s earnings; he can also get tips from especially satisfied clients. 

Next time I will describe everything a player can do in the game during the day (interactions with slaves and other NPCs) 

House of Pleasure. Dev diary # 4. Emotional simulation

Hello guys. 

Today I will tell you how I am planning to simulate emotions and relationships with slaves in the game. Keep in mind, everything below is subject to change. I only started to implement this system. A lot of testing will be required before it works as I imagine. 

So, each slave has 3 sets of characteristics: traits, relationships and emotional states 

Traits 

Those are the things that determine slave’s character. They don’t change. 

  1. Pride. Higher pride means she will resent being a slave. It will be harder to make her accept her fate. 
  1. Naivete. How easily she trusts people. 
  1. Sneakiness. Girl’s ability and willingness to lie and manipulate people. 
  1. Libido. How much she enjoys sex. But it’s not that simple. Even if a girl has high libido, that doesn’t mean that she will automatically enjoys everything that you or clients do to her. 

Relationships 

These characteristics determine what a slave feels about player’s character. They change slowly other time. 

  1. Affinity. Whatever she likes or hates you as a person. 
  1. Trust. Whatever she believes that you will treat her fairly. 
  1. Respect. High respect will deter a girl from trying to lie or manipulate you. 
  1. Fear. How much she fears you. 

Emotional states 

These things can change rapidly. A combination of states determines slave’s current mood. Which in turn affects her speech, animations and how she respond to player’s actions and other events 

  1. Happiness 
  1. Anger 
  1. Confidence 
  1. Stress 

The last one is important because when it’s above a certain level, a slave cannot be sent to work. So, you should manage it carefully. 

So, when a player does something, relationships and emotional states adjust. And how they adjust depends on: 

  1. What exactly had been done or said 
  1. Girl’s traits 
  1. Girl’s current relationships 
  1. Girl’s current mood 

Also, same actions have a diminishing result if performed in close succession. 

Regarding accessibility of those characteristics to the player. Currently I think, that only stress level should be shown (since it determines whatever a slave can attend clients or not). The rest will be hidden, but a player can guess them by paying attention to girl’s behavior. Although maybe I will make an option to show everything.

House of Pleasure. Dev. diary #2. World and story

Hello guys 

Today I will tell you about the game world, the protagonist and the story. 

The game takes place in a fantasy setting in a city named Salagara. It’s a capital of a declining but still mighty empire. The city is a center of power and commerce. Any commodity from every corner of the world could be found there. That includes humans and other sentinel beings. As slavery is legal and in fact integral part of the economy. 

Our hero is a young man. He was sent to the capital by his parents to study civil service and become a respected imperial bureaucrat. But the city offers too much distractions. Unable to focus on his studies the protagonist was kicked out of the academy. He tried to find a job but lacks any kind of useful skill. Now our hero is faced with a gleam prospect of returning to his parents in shame and, more importantly, to spend his life in a boring provincial town. 

Luckily there is still hope. Before departing for Salagara the young man received a letter from his father. It is addressed to a wealthy entrepeneur Hostus Vulvius. Apparently, he owns a favor to the old man. The letter is supposed to be used only in a case of a dire need, but to our hero the current situation seems to fit that description. 

He comes to see Hostus Vulvius and finds out that this man owns an establishment that provides sexual services of slaves to a wealthy clientele. It’s called “House of Pleasure”. 

The favor that the owner owns to the the protagonist’s father turns out to be pretty big. As our hero gets a job of one of the overseers. He is responsible for slaves’ well-being and their performance with the clients. 

Very soon the young man realizes that he really, really likes the new job and has a talent for it. Now his goal is to be promoted and to be put in charge of higher class slaves that serve higher class patrons. During his quest our hero will encounter a lot of important and interesting people, he’ll be involved in political intrigues, meet his childhood crush and learns tons of dirty secrets. 

 PS. The motion clip is not a part of the game. That’s the result of my experiments with Spine (animation software). It’s the kind of style of animation that I will do for this project

New game announcement

Finally, today I will announce my new project. I’ve been thinking about it for more than a year. Several times it changed drastically (in my mind). Here is my current vision for the game. 

It’s called (title may change): “Uncle Vulvius’ House of Pleasure” 

The genre will be different from my previous projects. Basically, it’s a slave management and trainer. And yes, I know there are tons of games like that already, but in my opinion almost all of them have big flaws. In particular here a list of things, that I don’t like: 

  1. Not enough freedom for the player. What I mean is some kind of linear progression path. First you must do this, then you can do that. If she’s a slave, I should be able to do anything from the beginning if I want to 
  1. Focus on non-sexual activities like washing, cleaning the house, cooking food etc. Me personally, I have no interest in a house chores simulator 
  1. Too much numbers. Usually in the form of stats. That’s just breaks the immersion 
  1. Unrealistic behaviour. Slave does not react to player’s actions like a human being 
  1. Not enough art and animation. That’s self-explanatory 

And that’s how I want to address those issues in my project: 

  1. Player can do what he wants. But of course, girl will react differently, so there will be consequences 
  1. No house chores, very simple 
  1. Regarding stats my intension is too hide most of the numbers for the player. But instead a slave will behave differently depending on your actions, her emotional state and other factors 
  1. My plan is to create a realistic relationship/emotional engine. It will take into account slave’s characteristics, player’s actions, NPC’s actions and other events in the game world 
  1. All main characters will be animated, there will be sexual training and punishments animated and interactive, cutscenes for important story events 

The plans are ambitious, but I think, I can do it.

It will probably the last public release (except some bug fixing). After that all new versions will be for patrons only until the final release of the game.
